Performance Opportunities...

Yes, it is a dance studio and yes, we do perform!

All of the students including the satellite classes are offered the opportunity to perform in the end of the year celebration- the annual Dance Revue. Creative collaborations and hard working students come together to present a themed show like no other! All of the dances are choreographed by the teacher which ‘custom fit’ the classes specific abilities. Solos are offered to those students who take private instruction and meet age requirements. Costumes are not outlandish-we take the conservative, smart approach.

Our Performance Class is a special and unique group of girls ages 11 & up. Not a technique class, the students practice, poise and stage presence through use of props or other enhancements. Students are not required to audition; all are admitted. Certain guidelines must be met in regards to attendance, etc. The girls are given many opportunities to perform in a way that will entertain others, not win trophies for themselves. It is about giving the gift of dance. Our performance class has been selected to perform for the Walt Disney World Resorts in Orlando, Florida; June 2003, June 2005 & June 2007. Our Summer 2008 'invitation only' performance included Hershey Park. We are so very proud of our dancers!!!!

Melissa Nemetz School of Dance Performs at Walt Disney World

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla - The Melissa Nemetz School of Dance Dancers became
stars of their own Disney show on Sunday June 17 when they took the stage
at the Galaxy Palace Theater at Magic Kingdom Park. They traveled from
Pittsburgh, PA to the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida to take part in
Disney Magic Music Days.

The dancers also sharpened their performance skills during a workshop
taught by a professional Disney performer. During the workshop, the
students learned techniques to insure success in the professional working
world.

Dance groups from throughout the country apply to perform each year as part of Disney Magic Music Days. Once selected, ensembles are given the
opportunity to perform at the resort for an international audience of theme
park guests.

Disney Magic Music Days is part of Disney Performing Arts Programs, which
offers band, choral, dance and auxiliary performers the opportunity to
learn, perform and compete at the Walt Disney World Resort. For more

Due to popular demand, we have added an additional group of performers in our beginner performance group which meets Wednesday nights. This class is open to ages 9-10 & 11.
